Oftentimes singleness is overlooked.
Many people rush to the altar seeking to find their “other half” when in fact marriage is not a process that completes an individual.
In the teaching “Singleness is not Loneliness” Pastor James Morrise teaches us that singleness is a state in which a person should become whole. The best marriages are those with two whole and fulfilled individuals. If a person attempts to get married to fill a void, they will most likely end up disappointed. Marriage is not a relationship designed for one to take, yet instead, it is a relationship designed for each individual to give.
Marriage is not a relationship designed for one to take, yet instead, it is a relationship designed for each individual to give.
If each individual gives to each other than both individuals will have their needs meet. Pastor Morrise teaches that it is in singleness that one learns how to give and it is singleness that helps us acquire all the tools necessary to have and maintain healthy relationships.
Singleness is important and should be approached as an opportunity for personal growth. There is no need to rush. For surely, at the end of it all, long lasting and fulfilling Love is worth the Wait.
